A simple Easter basket decoration.  Here’s how I made it in about an hour:

You will need:

Paintable eggs (I used paper mache)

Flat craft paint brush (I used Plaid)

Acrylic craft paints (I used three different metallic colors)

Basket

Grass or moss

Chick or bunny animal, optional

Non stick drying surface

I found paper mache eggs at Hobby Lobby (they cost about $5 – on sale – for 12).  I decided to use metallic craft paints for these, but you can use any color scheme you choose.  I painted four eggs each color:  copper, gold and bronze.  It took two rounds – I held the eggs and painted whatever I could, except where my fingers were.  I allowed the eggs to dry on a sheet of non-stick aluminum foil.  Then I painted what was left and made sure they had a good coat of paint all over.  Once the eggs were dry, I filled the basket (which I think I found at a store like Wal-Mart) with natural moss (also found at Hobby Lobby) and arranged the eggs inside.  I happened to have a chick that fit perfectly on top.  There you have it!  Have fun making this for your Easter decorations 🙂
